Well, spending the time at our backyard never gets old since we can always share and hang out with our friends and relatives. One of the important things which must exist in camping backyard is the fire pits. Yes, gather around the fire pits never gets boring or old. Not only it is easy to make, but also economical since you can always create it with inexpensive materials such as concrete blocks and bricks. All you need to have is determination. So, let’s make backyard fire pits for us, shall we?
Choosing the coolest spot and digging the hole
The first step should be taken is to choose the right spot for the pit. You must be sure you have understood the building codes of your area where you live to avoid crossing any policy. After that, you will also make sure that the fire pit is far away from explosive materials that will be easy to burn. Then after finding the right spot, get a stake driven into the ground to get the location of where the fire pit will sit located. Get the area where the hole will be made spotted using spray paint. Then, get a hole dug out about 1 foot deep inside the boundary of the circle which has been marked using spray paint. At the hole’s center make another hole with about 8 – 10 inches wide and 1 foot deep.
Start building the pit
Get the fire pit’s bottom covered with several inches (gravel). Then get several inches of sand poured on the gravel layer for creating a barrier of fire which will get any burning ember caught. You can start building the wall around the pit by getting stones stacked.
